Privacy Policy
We use your data to deliver and enhance the Service. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as outlined in the following policies.
Advocate Privacy
Data Storage
We collect data from you when you sign up and voluntarily fill out the form to become an advocate. Your first and last name, age, picture, state, country, musical history, and a paragraph about why music is important to you is visible on your public advocate profile on our website. We store everything included in your public profile, plus your student ID and email, in our email and database. Please note that we DO NOT publicly display your email or student ID on our website.
Data Usage
We publicly display your first and last name, age, picture, state, country, musical history, and a paragraph about why music is important to you so that people can read your story and how music has impacted your life. We use your email to send the advocacy hours form, which you will use to record all advocacy that you do for music education. We also use your email for any announcements or if we need to contact you. We use your graduation year, high school name, state, and picture of your student ID to verify that you are between 13 and 18 years old.
We make every effort to gather minimal data from you; however, we need to collect certain information to ensure that you’re a real person when you request to become an advocate.
Data Disclosure
The Music Education Matters Organization may disclose your data to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend the organization’s rights or property, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect the personal safety of Service users, or safeguard against legal liability.
Data Security
Although we’ve implemented measures to protect the personal information you share with us, it’s important to understand that no security system is invulnerable. Despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee that any method of data transmission is entirely immune to interception or misuse. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security. Participation in the Music Education Matters Organization is at your own risk.
