As an orchestral bass trombone player who has played with musicians and ensembles of varying degrees of skill, I firmly believe that the production of sound homogenizes one’s musical voice, passion, and ingenuity and is an extension of identity. The truth is that musical performance as a medium is wavering—so we must establish a uniform method to preserve the direction in which it will travel in all musical atmospheres. I believe that this course of action is simple, but we must unite as one: strong musical education programs across the globe must be instilled as a norm for all students, teachers, and administrators.
It is imperative that we use our voices to advocate music education. Be the voice for change your community needs and become an advocate today!
