Why is music important to you?

Music has been part of my life since I was a young girl. My father forced me into piano lessons when I was 3, and I kept it up until 4th grade. I quit piano, immediately picked up the trumpet, and loved it. Music allows me to connect with other people who also love music. It lets me express myself when words fail me; my life would not be the same without it.
