Why is music important to you?

Music is important to me because it lets me go somewhere I’ve never been, even if only for a short while. The works of the great composers are each little worlds, crafted with great uniqueness and depth. As musicians, it is our duty to beckon audiences into these realities through elevated performance, which we can only achieve through careful preparation, total mastery of fundamentals, and active imagination.
